Style4 operates köpstaden.se, the online e-commerce mall with multiple shopfronts for Swedish homewares and gifts.
With over 50 stores included in their website, they have customers from Sweden and the EU.
Packing data and statistics are used to inform box ordering and storage.
We now know how many cartons of a certain model have been used per day and can therefore adjust our carton purchases according to the season.
More box sizes can be used in daily operations.
Our shipping costs have dropped by 15% because 3dbinpacking is better at choosing the right box. We have also increased the number of different boxes we use as we no longer have to worry about the packer having all the sizes in his head.
Incorrect box sizes were costing money. Onboarding of new staff was taking time and some products were being damaged as they weren’t always packed correctly.

Thanks to 3DBP it is easier to bring in new staff as they have the time to think up the right box. We also specify per product how sensitive to shocks the product is, so some extra margin is added for shock-absorbing materials.
Orders are now consolidated into picking lists, increasing picking and packing productivity by 19%.
When picking up orders, we use mass picking lists and pick up either 4, 8 or 16 orders on each trolley. We let 3dbinpacking decide if each order needs a small bin, large bin or if it should be placed directly on the picking cart's shelf. This is then used to determine what type of bulk pick list the order should be printed on. This means that the packer uses the same picking cart but just swaps out the trays.
We also often send multiple API requests to 3DBP if products can be placed inside other products to save space (everything is handled automatically).
