Our warehouse staff first talked about optimization for packing and picking optimization. They needed to know which boxes to use to pack all the products for an order and to know how big an order was before they started packing.
We thought, well wait a second, maybe someone's written an API for that. And we pretty quickly found you guys.
Momentum Management integrated the 3DBP API into a button in the sales system to calculate optimized packing for their orders. This is sent along with the order to the warehouse.
There's a button on the screen, and that sends out to the API, and it comes back with a theoretical list of how that order would be packed. It works really good in our case.
For our warehouse people, that means that before they even start to pick an order, they have an idea of about how big it's going to be!
